Artheon was selected by the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) as the prime consultant for the Route 295–42 Missing Moves project, a complex, multi-disciplinary highway improvement located at the confluence of I-295, NJ Route 42, and NJ Route 55. The project spans the Boroughs of Bellmawr, Westville, and Runnemede, as well as the Township of Deptford, within Camden and Gloucester Counties, New Jersey.
This high-profile interchange accommodates more than 250,000 vehicles per day and historically experienced one of the highest accident rates in the state. The project was undertaken to improve traffic operations and safety by completing critical missing ramp connections, including the I-295 North connection to NJ Route 42 South and the NJ Route 42 North connection to I-295 South. Additional improvements included an added lane from NJ Route 55 North and realignment of ramps connecting NJ Route 42 to Benigno Boulevard and Creek Road.
Construction activities included approximately four miles of five-lane roadway construction, demolition of existing structures, construction of one new noise barrier, nine new bridge structures, fifteen retaining walls, and twelve sign support structures. Artheon provided comprehensive construction inspection services, overseeing roadway construction activities and ensuring compliance with NJDOT standards and project requirements throughout construction.
